We’re two cousins with creative souls — makers at heart, since forever.
Life somehow led us both to Berlin — two cousins, now reunited in the same city, creating together. That’s why our paths aligned once again. In that moment of transition, we reconnected with something that had always been there: our love for creating with our hands.
But this didn’t start here. Back in Colombia — our home, and the place that shaped us — we had already explored countless manual techniques together. That early curiosity eventually turned into a decision: to keep making, slowly and intentionally. Pieces that are both functional and beautiful.
In our material explorations, we discovered jesmonite — a versatile, non-toxic and eco-conscious material that felt aligned with our values. We immediately fell in love with its textures, its imperfections, and its possibilities. And that’s where Amatua began to take shape.
For those who’ve followed us since the beginning, you know Amatua has never been just one thing. We've worked with paper, textiles, and hosted workshops. We've tried, tested, and grown through the process.
Eventually, we chose to keep what brought us the most joy: creating home pieces and, later on, earrings — a natural extension of our design exploration. Working at the intersection of color, form, and texture, these two product lines allow us to keep experimenting without limits.
Today, everything you see at Amatua is the result of that evolving journey. From the pieces themselves, to the way we display them, to how we communicate and share our world — every detail is shaped by us, with intention and care.
Looking ahead, we dream of growing within a creative and supportive community — especially among migrant women like us, who are artists, entrepreneurs, or simply curious souls seeking connection.
We believe in a more conscious economy. In local, handmade, and sustainable practices. And in the power of creating, together.

Objects with soul. Made to live with you.
We believe sustainability is not a feature — it's a foundation.
That’s why we choose Jesmonite, a non-toxic, water-based, and eco-conscious material.
Our pieces are poured, sanded, and finished by hand in small batches, with care for the planet and the people who make them.
Our packaging is plastic-free and fully recyclable, and every production decision is made with intention — from waste reduction to reusing every leftover chip in terrazzo pieces.
We don’t chase mass production or perfection. We value process, texture, and the little irregularities that make each piece unique.
In a world of fast consumption, we celebrate thoughtfulness, inviting you to explore products that narrate stories and resonate with your essence.
